The Deep
6.30 92 minutes On the island of Hemay, Iceland, a group of fishermen are about to leave on a new expedition to hunt for fish. It is one night in 1984 when their fishing boat sinks far from shore: the nets have run aground in the depths and blocking the winch caused the boat to capsize. The crew members try to save themselves but only one of them, young Gulli, succeeds in the desperate endeavor, swimming for hours alone in the frigid North Atlantic, with only companions the seagulls that flutter in the sky and to whom the castaway confides his prayers.
